LAUREN FELDMAN
Lauren is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
pursuing majors in Neuroscience and Computer Science. Lauren has played piano since
the age of 5 and was fortunate to begin taking lessons with Dr. Julia Lam at the age
of 13. Dr. Lam’s keen understanding of the importance of each note and insistence on
perfection challenged Lauren, and she grew and thrived as a musician under her tutelage.
Lauren is a 2-time First Place winner of the Crescendo International Music Competition
and performed at
Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She also earned
high marks at the MEA Honors Recital, the NJMTA and the MEA Annual Recital for 3 years. S
he earned the Judge’s Award at the 2018 National Youth Performing Artists Concert at the
DiMenna Center for Classical Music in NYC. Lauren was also a violinist in the Ridge
Symphony Orchestra.
This summer, Lauren is conducting a research project in a Biochemistry Lab at UNC.
She enjoys playing piano in her free time and is forever grateful for the incredible tools and
appreciation for music she learned under Dr. Lam. Lauren sends her love to peanut and Dr. Lam,
and she wishes the best to all her students.
