ALBERT GU


Albert Gu is an extremely passionate musician who has been playing the piano since age 3. During the summer of 2013, Albert attended the Northern Lights Music Festival with Dr. Lam and subsequently studied with her from 2013-2015. With Dr. Lam’s guidance, Albert won top prizes at the NJMTA and MEANJ piano competitions. He also began learning piano duets under Dr. Lam’s tutelage and was selected to perform at an NJMTA masterclass taught by Melvin Stecher & Norman Horowitz. In addition, he has attended several masterclasses under Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky, Thomas Schumacher, and Read Gainsford. Mr. Gu is currently a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Economics. In addition to piano, Albert loves singing and a cappella. He will be the music director of Penn Masala for the 2022-23 school year.
